On Sunday 10th July, teams of young riders from John Shaw Equestrian rode fantastically to sweep the board at the Aintree Inter-Schools Chamionship competition
Amongst the numerous achievements and great wins, the teams secured both 1st and 2nd place in the 60cm team challenge; 1st place in the 70cm team challenge; and 3rd place in the 80cm team challenge. As well as this, fantastic individual performances from Beth Goddard and Josie Nisbet saw them take 1st place in the 60cm individual class and 1st place in the 80cm individual class, respectively.
With amazing riding all round and brilliant conduct from our fabulous horses and ponies, our young riders also took various 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place spots in their classes. They beat off the competition to wow the judges, parents and their JSE trainers in a show that ran to the same standard as any BSJA competition.
Congratulations go to all competitors... India Abbott, Huraira Ansari, Beth Clegg, Elissa Duffy, Sarah Froggett, Beth & Danielle Goddard, Hannah Hagon, Emily Howarth, Hannah Lewis, Rebecca Matthews, Jamie & Jessica Millner and Josie Nisbet.
On behalf of all at John Shaw Equestrian, thanks go to everyone at Aintree, particularly judge Matt Millin and centre manager Denise Maitland, for the professionalism exhibited in the running of the show. Thanks also to family and friends who came to support both riders and horses.
From the teams, a big thank you to trainers, Abi and John Shaw, for their continued commitment to coaching the youngsters and schooling the horses and ponies.
